(WDAM) &#8211; Pine Belt golf cart enthusiasts gathered at Town Square Park Saturday to celebrate their four-wheeled vehicles and raise money to help a local teenager. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The highlight of the first-ever Hub City Golf Cart Festival was a parade through downtown Hattiesburg. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The grand marshal was 13-year-old Jacola Youngblood. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She\u2019s battling a rare form of leukemia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201c(Being grand marshal) makes me feel like, loved and like, I\u2019m not just going through this by myself, I\u2019m going through this with everybody and they\u2019re with me,\u201d Jacola said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After the parade, Jacola was presented with two $500 checks from Hattiesburg-Area First Responders and City Cruisers Golf Cart Club. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">They were co-sponsors for the festival. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cTo see her, you would never know she\u2019s going through something she\u2019s fighting this disease, but she\u2019s fighting it, we\u2019re going to fight it with her the best we can,\u201d said Chad Young, festival coordinator. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Young says the festival was also an educational and safety event for golf cart owners. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hattiesburg became a \u201cgolf cart friendly\u201d city in 2022, when a city ordinance was passed allowing golf carts and low-speed vehicles on city streets. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"WDAM 7 On Your Side composer template image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/PNCWZZZLGNEQJJNRWLTM7TF3DE.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"182\" \/>WDAM 7 On Your Side composer template image(WDAM7)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Want more WDAM 7 news in your inbox?
