Bryson DeChambeau has discussed Yasir Al-Rumayyan\u2019s surprise appearance at LIV Golf New York on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Al-Rumayyan is the Governor of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia \u2013 LIV Golf\u2019s biggest financial backer until recently.<\/p>\n

The former LIV Golf chairman withdrew the PIF\u2019s funding in April this year and had not been seen at any tournaments since.<\/p>\n

However, Al-Rumayyan was spotted watching this weekend\u2019s event<\/a> with United States President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yasir Al-Rumayyan met with Donald Trump and nine-time major champion Gary Player on the final day of LIV Golf<\/a> New York.<\/p>\n

While Trump\u2019s appearance made sense, given that he owns the golf course, Al-Rumayyan\u2019s appearance raised eyebrows.<\/p>\n

Rumours have since emerged that the former LIV Golf chairman may not have completely given up on the league.<\/p>\n

Bryson DeChambeau<\/a> also did not know the reason for Al-Rumayyan\u2019s visit and was unwilling to take any guesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we all found out last night that he was going to be out here,\u201d he said in his press conference after finishing T38.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he needed to have some conversations with the president. That was a whole \u2018nother thing. I\u2019m not going to get involved with that.<\/p>\n

However, DeChambeau was pleased to see the Saudi Arabian businessman despite his controversial decision earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it was great to see him out here,\u201d DeChambeau continued. \u201cI think he\u2019s done wonders for us and the global game of golf. I think there\u2019s a great place for the PIF and where they want to be moving forward. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhere that is, I\u2019m not exactly sure. I have no idea. But I know that he\u2019s supported golf for a long, long time, and as this transitions over hopefully into the new investor\u2019s hands and into the players\u2019 hands, we really have an opportunity to align a lot of the global incentives to be a force for good for the game.\u201d<\/p>\n
