Not about electric trolleys in general, but about whether one could actually fit into my life without becoming another piece of gear I haul out twice and then quietly retire to the garage. My sedan isn’t exactly a cargo van, and my trunk already has a full golf bag’s permanent residency. So the first test the Stewart Golf Q Follow had to pass wasn’t on the fairway. It was in my parking lot.

It passed. Easily. The Q Follow folds down small enough that it slid in right alongside my bag without any of the usual reshuffling and swearing. Integrated carry handle, compact footprint, done. I’ll admit I stood there for a second just appreciating that.

On Course

 Stewart Golf

Setting it up at the course takes about as long as it takes to read this sentence. And once it’s rolling, the Q Follow largely just… gets on with it. In Follow mode it tracks you, keeps pace, and navigates the course with the kind of quiet confidence you’d want from an actual caddie. I kept expecting to have to babysit it — to turn around and find it stuck against a bunker lip or wandering off toward the wrong fairway. It didn’t happen.

When I wanted more control, I switched to Remote, and when I just felt like pushing something, I used Manual. Flipping between the three modes is genuinely seamless — no holding buttons down, no waiting, no moment where you feel like you’re fighting the technology. It just responds. After a few holes, it stops feeling like a feature and starts feeling like how the thing works.

What I Liked

 Stewart Golf

Everything is hand-built in the UK, and you can tell. This doesn’t feel like something assembled to a price point — it feels considered. Stewart Golf has been doing this longer than anyone else in the electric trolley business, over 20 years, and that experience shows up in the small details as much as the big ones.

It also looks genuinely cool on the course. I had two separate people ask me about it during my first round, which has never happened with any golf equipment I’ve owned. There are 13 colour options and four Carbon Range variants, so you can make it your own or keep it understated — either way it’s going to stand out a little, and not in a flashy way. More in a “that guy clearly knows what he’s doing” way, which is a nice bonus even when your short game says otherwise.

What I Didn’t Like

 Stewart Golf

The Q Follow is at its best when you’re walking — which sounds obvious until you play a course that isn’t really designed with walkers in mind. On courses with tight cart paths and narrow corridors between holes, the Follow mode can occasionally feel like it’s working harder than it should, and you’ll find yourself nudging it into Remote or Manual to thread through the tighter spots. It’s not a dealbreaker, and the mode switching is easy enough that it never becomes a source of frustration, but if your regular course is more cart track than fairway it’s worth factoring in. The Q Follow shines where it has room to breathe, and on an open, traditional walking course it’s genuinely hard to fault.

The colour choices — as good a problem as that is — also meant I spent longer than I’d like to admit on the configurator before ordering. Still a very minor gripe.

Support and Servicing

 Stewart Golf

Here’s something I didn’t expect to be a highlight: I actually contacted their customer support. Not because anything went wrong, but because I had a question before buying and wanted to talk to a person rather than read another FAQ. Someone picked up. They knew the product. They answered my question without upselling me or reading from a script.

Stewart Golf has US-based support out of Houston in addition to their UK team, and as the longest-standing company in the electric trolley business, they’ve clearly figured out that the relationship doesn’t end at the sale. In a category where you’re spending serious money on something you’re going to use for years, that’s not a small thing.

The Verdict

 Stewart Golf

The Q Follow is the kind of gear that quietly changes how you think about a round of golf. You stop thinking about carrying, stop thinking about the trolley, and just play. It fits in your car, sets up in seconds, follows you faithfully for 18 holes, and when you’re done you fold it back up and go home. The fact that it’s also beautifully made and turns heads on the course is a bonus. Stewart Golf has been at this longer than anyone, and it shows. Just make sure your course deserves it.

Stewart Golf Q Follow — Starting price varies by configuration.
