PALM COAST, Fla. \u2013 Jim Furyk and the PGA TOUR Champions will be bringing legendary players to Palm Coast this October at the Ocean Course at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa.<\/p>\n
Constellation Furyk & Friends will run Oct. 5 through Oct. 11, with tournament play beginning on Oct. 9. <\/p>\n
The Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa is a Jack Nicklaus inspired golf course sitting on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The course provides players a chance to feel the ocean breeze, battle the elements and enjoy the Florida coast. <\/p>\n
This is the first time the event will be played in Palm Coast, having been hosted in Jacksonville previously.<\/p>\n
\u201cSeeing the course (and) seeing the resort, looking at the event lawn, the space, six holes touching the ocean, I went, \u2018Wait a second, this could make a great event,\u2019\u201d said Jim Furyk to News 6. <\/p>\n
Furyk, a 29-time PGA TOUR champion including the 2003 U.S. Open Championship and 2010 FEDEX Cup, wants fans to come out and experience the resort. <\/p>\n
Alongside the tournament, the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation raises charity money. Over the last five years of the event, over $5 million has been raised.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a pinch me moment,\u201d Furyk said. \u201cTo be able to host your own event (and) to have all of my friends that I competed against my entire career here to kind of help out, to the play the game, to interact with our fans, and at the end of the day to raise a lot of money and do a lot of good in our community is something we\u2019re very proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n
