Get in a great round of golf and help a local church grow.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The second annual Harvest Golf Tournament is Sept. 26, at the Crown Park Golf Club, 2225 Hwy. 9, Longs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Registration is currently open online and will be available for one hour on the day of the event, from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
The shotgun start is at 9 a.m.\u00a0The entry fee is $75 per person and includes breakfast and lunch. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Harvest Church of Conway and the church is asking for donations. And there are still opportunities for hole sponsorships or to be a golf tournament sponsor, said Ricky Hughes, a church member who is one of the organizers. He also said the church is fundraising to help pay for the church’s growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have 16 acres and we\u2019re in the process of pre-planning to build our new church,\u201d he said. \u201cWe meet at Conway Christian School now and have been meeting there for four years, but we\u2019re looking forward to building our own \u00a0church.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Last year, the Harvest Golf Tournament, that features two flights, attracted 24 teams, Hughes said. \u201cWe want to get 28 teams this year. That is as many as the course can accommodate.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe learned a lot from last year\u2019s tournament and we want to make this one bigger and better,\u201d Hughes said. \u201cWe want it to be special…an event that players look forward to every year. We want them to look forward to coming back.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n
The tournament will include a silent auction with many professional golf memorabilia items.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A package is a available for purchase for two mulligans, a red tee and a raffle ticket for a 65-inch TV.\u00a0<\/p>\n
