COUDERSPORT \u2014 Monday\u2019s was another strong showing for the St. Marys Area boys golf team at the Coudersport Invitational, as the Dutchmen secured the team title by 10 strokes and saw Kai Caskey take the individual crown with a low-round of 74.<\/p>\n
Caskey\u2019s 74 was three shots better than runner-up Chase Wahlers of Coudersport, who shot a 77. DuBois Central Catholic\u2019s Jack Stevenson scored 78, tied with Smethport\u2019s Karl Riekofsky for third place overall.<\/p>\n
The team scores included the best three scores for each team, and St. Marys managed to claim that title by seeing three players finish in the top nine overall, with Caskey\u2019s 74 being joined by rounds of 82 each by Landyn Rippy and Parker Saline \u2014 tied with two other players for sixth-best individually \u2014 giving them a team score of 238.<\/p>\n
For the Cardinals of DCC, Stevenson\u2019s 78 was followed by a pair of 89s \u2014 from Gavin Horner and Porter Price \u2014 to round out the team scoring at 256. Also playing for DCC were Brayden Zatsick (91) and Audie Benson (102).<\/p>\n
Bradford finished runner-up, 10 strokes back of the Dutchmen at 248, and Kane took third with a score of 252. DCC was fourth overall, two shots ahead of Smethport (258), which rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n
Bradford\u2019s top competitors were Jamin Bell and Tarren Reese, with respective scores of 81 and 82 seeing them finish fifth and tied for sixth.<\/p>\n
Nick Lorenzo of Kane joined Reese, Rippy and Saline at 82, and Kane\u2019s Seth Lundeen and Kaine Salada rounded out the top 10 with identical scores of 83.<\/p>\n
Elk County Catholic\u2019s Nick Chamberlin was the top Crusaders performer with a score of 87.<\/p>\n
St. Marys is scheduled to travel to Kane this morning for a quad-meet with the host, Brockway and Cameron County.
