Greater Douglas United Way has announced the return of the Dave Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament, teeing off for its 44th year on Thursday, September 10th, at the Bar Run Golf & RV Resort.<\/p>\n
A United Way release said, this tournament is more than just a day on the green\u2014it is a vital part of their Annual Giving Campaign. Every swing and every putt helps them support 24 local, member non-profit agencies that provide essential services to nearly one in two residents here in Douglas County.<\/p>\n
The event format will be a four-person scramble that begins at 10:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. The day will feature breakfast, lunch, a specialty charcuterie table, and an awards presentation to close out the afternoon.<\/p>\n
There will be on-course challenges and competitions including hole-in-one contests, a closest-to-the-pin competition sponsored by First Interstate Bank, featuring $600 in cash prizes, and new sponsor-hosted tee box surprises to keep the energy high throughout the round.<\/p>\n
The event is made possible by the generosity of the community, including Oregon Pacific Bank, Banner Bank, US Bank, Oregon Community Credit Union, Columbia Bank, and Cascade Community Credit Union.<\/p>\n
Registration is now open. Space is limited to 36 teams. Players are encouraged to register early. Individual entry is $125 or $150 with cart fee, and a team of four is $600.<\/p>\n
