Scottie Scheffler\u2019s dominance of the professional game continued with his win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week in Memphis.<\/p>\n

2026 has actually been a strange season for Scheffler in the sense that he had won only once before the FedEx St. Jude Championship.<\/p>\n

However, Scheffler has still been completely dominant, with 12 top-5s to his name in 18 PGA Tour starts, including five runner-up finishes!<\/p>\n

Scottie Scheffler<\/a> has also been a class above everyone else regarding his stats on the PGA Tour<\/a> so far in 2026.<\/p>\n

In fact, Scheffler is inside the top 10 in all four of the key statistical categories on the PGA Tour<\/a> this year \u2013 something that has never been done since ShotLink data began in 2003.<\/p>\n

Now, after his win in Memphis, Scheffler has one of Phil Mickelson<\/a>\u2018s PGA Tour records firmly in his sights.<\/p>\n

Mickelson is one of the greatest golfers to have ever graced the game.<\/p>\n

He has 45 PGA Tour wins to his name, including six major championships.<\/p>\n

His move to LIV Golf undoubtedly tainted his legacy, but nobody can argue that he is one of the most talented golfers to have ever played the game.<\/p>\n

Mickelson stands alone as the only player ever on the PGA Tour to win on multiple occasions in six successive seasons.<\/p>\n

Tiger Woods has won on multiple occasions five times (twice), and Scheffler\u2019s victory at the FedEx St. Jude saw him move level with the 15-time major champion.<\/p>\n

Scheffler will need to win at least twice in 2027, and then again in 2028 if he is to break Mickelson\u2019s all-time PGA Tour record.<\/p>\n

Judging by his sheer and utter dominance over the past few years, it seems almost certain that he will manage to do just that.<\/p>\n

Really, the only thing that might stop him is if he picks up any kind of serious injury.<\/p>\n

One of Phil Mickelson\u2019s greatest strengths was his durability.<\/p>\n

The six-time major winner never sustained any kind of significant injuries throughout his career on the PGA Tour, and that enabled him to play as much as he wanted.<\/p>\n

Scheffler has experienced an injury-free start to his career as well, aside from the wine glass incident in December 2024 when he cut his hand and was forced to undergo surgery.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s fair to say that he could easily win multiple times for the next five or six seasons.<\/p>\n

As long as Scottie Scheffler maintains his incredible work ethic and hunger to compete, there is no reason why he won\u2019t overtake Phil Mickelson\u2019s PGA Tour record in 2028.<\/p>\n
