{"id":52520,"date":"2026-08-18T22:13:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T22:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/52520\/"},"modified":"2026-08-18T22:13:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T22:13:11","slug":"adam-scott-confirmed-for-this-years-australian-pga-and-australian-open-australian-golf-digest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/52520\/","title":{"rendered":"Adam Scott confirmed for this year&#8217;s Australian PGA and Australian Open \u2013 Australian Golf Digest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Global superstar Adam Scott is the latest big name confirmed for this year\u2019s BMW Australian PGA and Capital.com\u00a0Australian Open championships, with the 46-year-old committing to both events today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scott will be a drawcard when the Australian PGA makes its long-awaited return to Sydney at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/the-lakes-golf-club-named-as-host-of-bmw-australian-pga-championship\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Lakes Golf Club<\/a> from November 26-29, while the Australian Open will be held at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/videos\/course-flyover-kingston-heath-golf-club-visit-victoria\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kingston Heath Golf Club<\/a> in Melbourne from December 3-6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/adam-scott-seals-signature-season\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adam Scott seals signature season<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former world No.1 and 2013 Masters champion is a two-time winner of the Australian PGA Championship, claiming the Joe Kirkwood Cup in 2013 and 2019, and a one-time Australian Open champion (2009).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scott recently made history as just the second player to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/100-does-sound-like-a-lot-adam-scott-reflects-on-major-milestone-ahead-of-next-weeks-us-open\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">compete in 100 consecutive major championships<\/a>, reaching the milestone at the US Open at Shinnecock Hills in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Queenslander was in form during last year\u2019s big events on home soil, finishing seventh and fifth in back-to-back weeks at the Australian PGA Championship and Australian Open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He joins fellow Australian major champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/cam-smith-a-confirmed-starter-for-this-years-australian-open-and-pga\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cam Smith<\/a>, Canada\u2019s two-time PGA Tour winner Corey Conners and Spanish young gun <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/josele-ballester-locks-in-return-to-australian-summer-of-golf\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Josele Ballester<\/a> as confirmed big names in the field for The Lakes, while Scott joins <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/cam-smith-wishes-australian-open-had-gone-a-different-way-but-his-takeaways-are-positive\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Smith<\/a> and Grand Slam winner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/australian-open-rory-mcilroy-hopes-for-standalone-week-as-attendance-records-smashed\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rory McIlroy<\/a> as headliners at Kingston Heath.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m excited to head back home and play at The Lakes,\u201d Scott said. \u201cThe Australian PGA has always been a very special tournament to me. I\u2019ve been fortunate enough to win twice, yet it\u2019s always a real challenge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere are plenty of birdie chances out there as well, so overall it should be a really entertaining week for the crowd at The Lakes in November. There\u2019s also a lot of interest from guys on tour wanting to come down and compete in Australia. We\u2019re all looking forward to it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019ve always loved playing the Australian Open,\u201d Scott added. \u201cIt has so much incredible history and is a tournament every Australian golfer holds in such high regard.
