{"id":52557,"date":"2026-08-19T00:02:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-19T00:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/52557\/"},"modified":"2026-08-19T00:02:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T00:02:09","slug":"richardson-city-council-approves-5m-for-sherrill-park-golf-course-renovation-richardson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/52557\/","title":{"rendered":"Richardson City Council approves $5M for Sherrill Park Golf Course renovation | Richardson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Richardson City Council unanimously approved $5 million for renovations at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sherrillparkgolf.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sherrill Park Golf Course<\/a> at its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cor.net\/home\/showpublisheddocument\/46821\/639220652231630000\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aug. 17<\/a> meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The funding will support installation of the golf course\u2019s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cor.net\/Home\/Components\/News\/News\/8016\/73\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">training center<\/a> and maintenance barn addition, which are expected to be completed by March 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The overview<\/p>\n<p>Richardson announced the construction of the new training center in February 2025, which is set to include two hitting bays to allow lessons to be conducted in all weather. The center will also house a specialized <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/richardson\/business\/2025\/01\/31\/titleist-to-open-fitting-center-in-richardson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fitting facility<\/a> in partnership with golf equipment company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.titleist.com\/?srsltid=AfmBOooI9cYqHa2oEKBKicPLaoQmw8NIRrkixcQp-9JLvMojbEgNjQwO\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Titleist<\/a>, its first fitting center in North Texas.<\/p>\n<p>At the fitting center, a Titleist Fitting Professional will work one-on-one with golfers to optimize their golf clubs based on their own individual performance.<\/p>\n<p>Council <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/richardson\/government\/richardson-city-council-approves-700000-for-sherrill-park-golf-course-renovation\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">approved<\/a> $700,000 in April for preconstruction work, bringing the project total to $5.7 million.<\/p>\n<p>The details<\/p>\n<p>The approved funds will support site improvements, including drainage, grading and paving, new fences and gates in the maintenance barn area and water and sewer utilities.
