(Yes.)<\/p>\n A golfer was blown away by the technology packed into a cart his father bought. And honestly, it looks like the kind of tech you\u2019d find in a new-ish car.<\/p>\n RJ Plunkett (@rjisntfunny) highlighted its features on TikTok in a clip that\u2019s garnered well over 573,000 views.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, they said cars would evolve by now. They said cars would be flying by now. And they really haven\u2019t. But I\u2019ll tell you what has: The golf cart,<\/a>\u201d he says.<\/p>\n Next, he demonstrates just how far golf cart technology has advanced<\/a> throughout the decades. \u201cLadies and gentleman, let me introduce you to the most futuristic golf cart you\u2019ve ever seen,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n Following this, he flips his camera around to reveal the buggy in question. At first glance, it doesn\u2019t look like anything out of the ordinary. It\u2019s a typical black-top cart with a white paint job. The leather seats do look like something out of a top-trim car model, but this isn\u2019t why Plunkett\u2019s praising the whip. \u201cDoesn\u2019t look like much, but, let me get into it,\u201d he promises.<\/p>\n Once seated inside of the ride, he reveals a large touchscreen that sports several infotainment options, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the option to play movies and music straight from USB. Phone calls can also be made through the device, so you can tell your friends how bad of a game you\u2019re having in between holes.<\/p>\n \u2018The Golf Cart Game Is Evolving\u2019<\/p>\n Plunkett was wowed by the display, exclaiming, \u201cWe got the CarPlay. We got the phone; we got the USB. You can play a movie on this thing.\u201d<\/p>\n Following this, he moves his hand toward a button that switches the cart into reverse. The screen temporarily turns black, and then an image of the cart\u2019s rear pops up into view. That\u2019s right\u2014the cart\u2019s equipped with a rear-view camera.<\/p>\n While this has been a mandatory safety feature in automobiles in the U.S. since 2018<\/a>, seeing one in a golf cart feels excessively lavish. \u201cIt\u2019s got a backup camera. I don\u2019t even need a backup; I can look like this,\u201d he says, demonstrating the clear view of the cart\u2019s rear behind him. \u201cBut it\u2019s \u2026 still got one. For no reason,\u201d Plunkett says.<\/p>\n Afterward, he heads on to the back of the cart to show off another feature. There\u2019s a dedicated cooler that has space for plastic containers, which can be packed with ice-cold beverages. \u201cThese are packs in here. You fill these up with water; freeze them overnight. This thing just keeps getting better and better by the day,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n Dad\u2019s Got Taste<\/p>\n Plunkett then takes the time to clear the air for viewers wondering who actually owns the cart. While he admits that his father purchased it, he also isn\u2019t above cruising around in it\u2014and even letting folks assume the dope whip is actually all his. \u201cIs it mine? Of course not. Did my dad buy it? Of course he did. Am I still gonna drive it and act like it\u2019s mine? I might from time to time. But let me tell you: Probably the coolest golf cart I\u2019ve ever seen,\u201d he signs off.<\/p>\n When it comes to installing custom infotainment displays on vehicles, there\u2019s a general rule of thumb. And it\u2019s that the simpler the vehicle\u2019s design, the easier it is to do. Of course, electrical outputs need to be assessed to ensure proper voltage is getting to the unit. But that\u2019s a heck of a lot easier than trying to fit one into a bespoke system with miles more of wiring in a newer ride.<\/p>\n As Audio Mobile Hayward<\/a> states, \u201cOlder vehicles often have simpler electrical systems, making audio upgrades more straightforward than in newer models.\u201d Older cars had standardized international sizing standards: usually single DIN or double DIN formats. Which means you find out which sizing your car has and you purchase the corresponding unit for that vehicle. Then you pry out the old cassette player and slide in your new unit.<\/p>\n But What About Golf Carts?<\/p>\n Purchasing a cart with one of these units preinstalled can cost a pretty penny, as per CartFinder<\/a>. The 4-seat Evolution D-MAX XT4, for instance, runs $15,595 brand new and comes with a 10.1-inch unit with similar functionality to the one presented in Plunkett\u2019s video. The Bintelli Nexus GEN2 lifted 4-Seater will run you a whopping $18,995. But which one did the golfing enthusiast show off on TikTok? Judging by the image on CartFinder\u2019s website, it looks like it could be the Sierra AX5 LSV.<\/p>\n Like Plunkett\u2019s, it\u2019s rocking two brown leather seats, a black top and white paint job option. It too includes a \u201c9-inch LCD display, backup camera, 3-inch speakers, and wireless phone charger. It also has lockable glove boxes for extra storage,\u201d as per the site\u2019s description. Sierra\u2019s website doesn\u2019t list a price, but CartFinder speculates that they run anywhere from $10,000 to $13,000.<\/p>\n If those price tags are too eye-watering for you, there are people who\u2019ve toyed with the idea of tricking out their own carts<\/a>. So if you can pick up an older cart on Facebook Marketplace and are handy, or know a good custom car shop, maybe give it a try. You\u2019ll easily be the coolest person on the course.
