Movement on the FedEx Cup<\/a> bubble is one long rollercoaster ride, with guys moving up and down with every, birdie, par, bogey and anything else.<\/p>\n

They are through two rounds at the 2026 BMW Championship<\/a> and thus far, the movement shows three guys up inside the top 30 for the Tour Championship next week and thus three guys down. And who’s the “bubble boy” now? That would be recent first-time PGA Tour winner Michael Thorbjornsen, as Thursday night’s holder of the 30th spot, Rickie Fowler, has slid down on the wrong side of the cutoff.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at the current situation after 36 holes at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis where on Sunday the field of 50 will be reduced to 30 for East Lake.<\/p>\n

Gary Woodland is not only the best story going this week at the BMW; he’s also the biggest mover up in the standings. Entering the BMW just outside at No. 31, he seems to be intent on taking any drama out of this, moving up to 17 after posting scores of 64-65. He’s in solo second and will be in the final pairing for Saturday’s third round.<\/p>\n

“I played nicely. I didn’t hit it as well as I did yesterday, where I was in complete control. The key for me was, I lost it a little bit on the back nine, lost some shots to the right, and I was able to adjust, kind of take a step back. I checked my grip, which is a key from Randy Smith there. I checked my grip and hit four really great shots coming in on 17, 18, so proud of the adjustment I made there,” he said Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The Kansas Jayhawk is somewhat on enemy turf in St. Louis with a lot of fans from the rival Missouri Tigers in the gallery but he’s feeling good, especially with his wife following him around Bellerive.<\/p>\n

“My wife just came in today, which always helps me,” he said. “There’s a ton of people I know from home. I’m hearing people yelling my high school stuff. So it’s nice to be around that kind of energy, for sure.”<\/p>\n

His plans for Friday night?<\/p>\n

“I’ll get treatment now. I’ll get in the dark room, get my feet up, let my brain reset. Cold, dark room for a while. Hopefully about 12 hours,” Woodland said.<\/p>\n
