{"id":55312,"date":"2026-08-24T14:02:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T14:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/55312\/"},"modified":"2026-08-24T14:02:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T14:02:10","slug":"good-good-golf-deletes-driver-commercial-with-disturbing-opening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/55312\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Good Golf deletes driver commercial with disturbing opening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was a Bad Bad decision.<\/p>\n<p>Content creator Good Good Golf, the title sponsor of a new PGA Tour event this fall, posted and then deleted a video for a Callaway driver in which a man shoves to the ground a woman who was reaching for his new driver.<\/p>\n<p>The video was deleted by Good Good and Callaway late Friday after criticism that it portrayed violence against women, though clips of the ad still made the rounds on social media after the official accounts took it down.<\/p>\n<p>The characters in the ad are both with Good Good \u2014 Garrett Clark, who rushes over to shove Alexis Miestowski and then says to her as she lies on the ground, \u201cDo not touch my new driver.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The full Good Good driver video was actually 60 seconds long, and it seems like it was meant to be some sort of horror-movie spoof? It\u2019s still viewable in some posts. (Here\u2019s most of it:) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UBhUmKBQZY\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/UBhUmKBQZY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Stina Sternberg (@StinaSternberg) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/StinaSternberg\/status\/2091709564752122118?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">August 24, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The commercial caused outrage on social media from the golf community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely incredible that no one in the room said \u2018guys hold on&#8217;\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CPowers14\/status\/2090879483473469493\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Golf Digest reporter Christopher Powers wrote on X.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is very scary tbh,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kclairerogers\/status\/2090974309233643644\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Skratch\u2019s Claire Rogers wrote on X.<\/a> \u201cNot to make it into this Big Thing but what on earth are young girls supposed to think when they see something like this.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Garrett Clark shoves Alexis Miestowski to the ground in a deleted promotional video for a Callaway driver posted by Good Good Golf.  Good Good Golf<\/p>\n<p>Good Good apologized Saturday in a statement on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand,\u201d it read. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have since taken that content down, and sincerely apologize. Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Good Good Golf removed the video after backlash Good Good Golf<\/p>\n<p>Alexis Miestowski was shoved to the ground in the commercial.
