MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The American Family Insurance Championship will stay in Madison through 2030, moving back to University Ridge Golf Course next year. <\/p>\n
Organizers of the tournament announced an agreement was reached to keep the tournament in Madison and continue the team format. Officials said this makes it the only scramble format on the PGA TOUR Champions.<\/p>\n
The 2027 event is scheduled for June 7-13, with tournament play from June 11-13. <\/p>\n
PGA TOUR winner and Madison resident Steve Stricker will remain a player and host of the event. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe American Family Insurance Championship has been one of the premier events on PGA TOUR Champions since day one, and has continued to deliver a best-in-class experience for our players and fans,\u201d said PGA TOUR Champions President Miller Brady. \u201cThe combination of a hometown partner in American Family Insurance and a true icon of our game in Steve Stricker helped to set the foundation for success over the last 10 years, and we are excited to work with the team to continue those efforts through 2030.\u201d<\/p>\n
Proceeds from the tournament go toward the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation, which has provided nearly $22 million to charities and generated over $125 in local economic impact since 2016. <\/p>\n
The American Family Insurance Championship debuted at University Ridge Golf Course in 2016. <\/p>\n
Over the last two years, the tournament had been held at TPC Wisconsin<\/a>.<\/p>\n
