NASHPORT, Ohio \u2013 The Cleveland State golf team opened up its 2026 fall slate Saturday, playing 36 holes at the Virtues Intercollegiate.<\/p>\n
Sophomore transfer Troy Chapman<\/a> leads the Vikings sitting T-42, while Dillon Pendergast<\/a> and Ryan Dinan<\/a> are both T-53 after the first day of action. Gavin Leen<\/a> and Dominik Cosic<\/a> both sit T-62, while Jackson Sommer<\/a> is currently T-77 and Cameron Stafford<\/a> sits T-81.<\/p>\n Chapman and Pendergast had a team-best six combined birdies on the day, including five from Pendergast during the second round. Ryan Dinan<\/a> finished with five total birdies on the day, while Stafford and Sommer both notched eagles \u2013 Stafford on the par-five 10th and Sommer on the par-five 16th.<\/p>\n Stafford and Sommer were both making their collegiate debuts, while Chapman was making his Cleveland State debut after transferring prior to the season.<\/p>\n Cleveland State combined for 27 birdies and two eagles during the opening day of play at the Virtues Intercollegiate.<\/p>\n The Vikings will play 18 holes tomorrow to conclude action in the season-opening Virtues Intercollegiate.
