As several other high-profile players left for LIV Golf\u2014which is currently broiled in all kinds of chaos<\/a> as it looks to find new investors\u2014Scottie Scheffler<\/a> remained a mainstay on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

That decision has paid off for him in more ways than one. Scheffler has earned four consecutive PGA Tour of the Year awards and is a strong contender to rack up his fifth. He’s currently the No. 1 golfer in the world, and he just made a cool $10 million after winning the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club, securing his second FedEx Cup in three years.<\/p>\n

The victory propelled Scheffler past Tiger Woods<\/a> as the PGA Tour’s all-time highest earner. Woods, who had been atop the tour’s all-time earnings leaderboard for 26 straight years, has made about $121 million over his career. Scheffler now sits at\u00a0$130.4 million\u00a0in on-course earnings.<\/p>\n

Scheffler became just the fourth player to earn multiple Tour Championship victories, joining Woods (who’s won three), Rory McIlroy<\/a> (three), and Phil Mickelson<\/a> (two).<\/p>\n

Over this season, Scheffler has made about $30.94 million for the 2026 PGA Tour season. He only won a single event during the regular season, which is fewer than he has in previous years. However, over his first 17 starts, he had five runner-up finishes and finished in the top five 11 times, meaning he was earning big money pretty steadily.<\/p>\n

Once the playoffs began, Scheffler found another gear. He won the FedEx St. Jude Championship by eight shots, and his four-stroke victory at the Tour Championship came after entering the final round three shots behind runner-up Viktor Hovland.<\/p>\n

The Tour Championship victory is also a big day for Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott. As you might imagine, caddying for the world’s top golfer<\/a> can prove to be quite lucrative.<\/p>\n

Traditionally, a golfer will pay an elite caddie 10% of their prize money for a win, 7% for a top-10 finish, and 5% for other made cuts. This payment is in addition to a weekly base salary and any other bonuses the golfer deems fit.<\/p>\n

With a $10 million top prize out of a $40 million Tour Championship purse, that means Scott likely made about $1 million from this win alone. We estimate his total tournament bonuses for the year to be about $2.58 million.<\/p>\n

That figure doesn’t include his weekly salary, endorsements, or any additional private bonuses received from Scheffler. And it excludes Scheffler’s separate FedEx Cup bonus money; the PGA Tour pays incentives for season accomplishments.<\/p>\n

Adding in those numbers, which are private, might push Scott’s earnings close to $3 million for the year. His $2.58 million in bonuses alone is above what the average PGA Tour golfer made this season.<\/p>\n

Scott has been a successful caddie for quite some time, working with Bubba Watson<\/a> for 15 years and serving on Watson’s bag for Masters wins in 2012 and 2014. That duo parted ways in 2021, and Scott was thinking about quitting full-time caddying before Scheffler asked if he wanted a gig with him.<\/p>\n

Scheffler’s first PGA Tour win came in February 2022. Scott has been with him every step of the way. Now, the golfer is the all-time leader in career earnings.
