Scottie Scheffler reigned supreme, capturing three victories, including two in the playoffs\u2014the FedEx St. Jude Championship and the Tour Championship\u2014which handed him <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfdigest.com\/story\/heres-prize-money-payout-for-each-golfer-at-2026-tour-championship\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">$10 million<\/a> for winning the FedEx Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Before the playoffs, when there was discussion about the PGA Tour\u2019s Player of the Year award, Scheffler only had one victory, when several others had won multiple times. The one thing that always helped support Scheffler\u2019s bid was his overall consistency and all of the various statistics in which he topped.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the player of the year discussion is mostly over now\u2014the two playoff victories have most certainly delivered it to Scheffler for the fifth consecutive year. (Side note: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfdigest.com\/story\/Scottie-scheffler-stands-alone-after-winning-tour-championship-second-fedex-cup-title-2026\" class=\"editorial-link-no-style\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tour Championship win<\/a> also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfdigest.com\/story\/scottie-scheffler-blows-by-tiger-woods-on-this-money-list-that-woods-had-topped-for-26-years\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pushed him beyond Tiger Woods<\/a> at the top of the career earnings list.)<\/p>\n<p>With the season complete, we went to the PGA Tour stats to see how many times the number 1 appeared by Scheffler\u2019s name.
