Scottie Scheffler won the Tour Championship on Sunday at East Lake, earning $10 million<\/a> in the process and adding that to the pile of money ($23 million<\/a>) he won a week earlier by taking the top spot in the FedEx Cup bonus pool.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t win a major this year \u2014\u00a0the first time in the last three seasons he failed to win one \u2014\u00a0but his two-wins-in-three-starts tear in the playoffs made him the front-runner for PGA Tour Player of the Year yet again.<\/p>\n

On this week\u2019s Subpar podcast<\/a>, hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz discussed what might be Scheffler\u2019s game\u2019s most impressive feature: his incredible consistency.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe guy doesn\u2019t play bad,\u201d said Knost, who referenced a Kyle Porter tweet<\/a> that mentioned Scheffler has 58 top-five finishes in his last 100 PGA Tour starts. \u201cThat percentage right there is just ridiculous. I have never seen anything like it other than Tiger Woods. To put yourself in there week after week after week \u2014\u00a0[Drew] played this game for a living, I played this game for a living \u2014 there\u2019s days you show up, you feel like s\u2014, your body hurts, maybe something is going on off the golf course, you are distracted, I don\u2019t want to be here, and you just kind of go through the motions, go out there and play bad and call it a week. Scottie Scheffler doesn\u2019t do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Knost said the missed cut at the Scottish Open earlier this year was essentially an outlier. The last time Scheffler missed a cut before then was the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis good golf, no one beats him,\u201d Stoltz said. \u201cAnd his bad golf, hardly anyone beats him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stoltz added Scheffler\u2019s life off the course sets him up well for success on the course.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe guy\u2019s made more money than God and he has none of the things that tempt the world-class players in all sports, [they aren\u2019t] tempting to Scottie,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I feel like you don\u2019t find many guys like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
