Scottie Scheffler won the Tour Championship last week after overcoming a three-stroke deficit after 54 holes to win by three from Viktor Hovland.<\/p>\n

Scheffler ended his 2026 PGA Tour season on a high by winning the Tour Championship at East Lake.<\/p>\n

It was his third win of the season, and he will almost certainly be named PGA Tour Player of the Year as a result of his victory in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

Scottie Scheffler<\/a> may not have matched his win tallies from 2024 and 2025 this year, but he was perhaps even more dominant than ever as far as statistics are concerned.<\/p>\n

Scheffler broke his own \u2018raw\u2019 scoring record<\/a> by averaging under 68 throughout the 2026 PGA Tour<\/a> season.<\/p>\n

His win at the Tour Championship<\/a> capped off what has been a truly outstanding season for the world number one.<\/p>\n

Scheffler was clearly very confident in his chances of winning at East Lake last Sunday.<\/p>\n

While speaking on the Sub Par Podcast<\/a>, Colt Knost explained just how confident the world number one was on Saturday night ahead of the final round.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a killer. We talk about all these guys. I mean, you gotta have that dog in you, and you gotta have that killer instinct,\u201c Knost said.<\/p>\n

\u201cScottie Scheffler\u2019s got that. You see it. He is so competitive. One of the most competitive people I\u2019ve ever met.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were out at 7:00 p.m. Local time there on Saturday. Victor Hovland was the final pairing there and he comes off the green, and interviews with Amanda.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, before that, Scottie Scheffler sat down with Amanda to do a little interview, but we didn\u2019t get to air it on the CBS window, because we ran out of time.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Amanda just simply asked him, heading into Sunday, \u2018What is the winning score gonna be?\u2018<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd he said, \u2018Whatever I shoot\u2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Hell yeah, I mean, hell, yeah\u2018.\u201c<\/p>\n

Scottie Scheffler has the game to back up his confidence<\/p>\n

It\u2019s great to have so much self belief, but if you\u2019re going to make statements like that, you need to back it up on the golf course.<\/p>\n

And Scheffler certainly did that at the Tour Championship.<\/p>\n

He entered the FedEx Cup playoffs with just one win to his name, and he obviously knew that was not acceptable.<\/p>\n

Scottie Scheffler then went on to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship before finishing in a tie for 12th at the BMW Championship while suffering from hand, foot and mouth.<\/p>\n

He then finished the 2026 season by winning the Tour Championship and reminded everyone that he is still very much the man to beat.<\/p>\n

It really shouldn\u2019t surprise anyone if Scheffler goes on to win five or six times next season, while tucking away a couple of major championships in the process.<\/p>\n
