A third sub-brand, AeroTech SteelFiber, also notched a W this season.

When you throw in wedge shafts (which the ranking below does not), all but one winner this past Tour season carried at least one True Temper shaft in his bag.

With that context, the following list of the winningest iron shafts of the 2026 FedEx Cup season (American Express to Tour Championship) will not surprise you.

The winningest iron shafts during the 2026 FedEx Cup seasonNo. 1: True Temper Dynamic Gold (16 victories)

The DG is known as the “Gold Standard” as it’s been one of the top (or the top) iron shafts on the PGA Tour virtually since its introduction in the 1980s.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler uses the X100 as do Collin Morikawa, J.J. Spaun, Ryan Fox and Michael Thorbjornsen, who each won once this season. Russell Henley also used the X100 in his mid- and short-irons before creating a unique combo with the AMT White in his long irons.

Cameron Young and Wyndham Clark combined for five wins with the stouter X7 flex.

Interestingly, Bud Cauley and Aaron Rai both used the standard S300 version. In addition to being stiff as opposed to the Extra Stiff options, they also were not the Tour Issue like the other winners. Dynamic Gold Tour Issue shafts are sorted to a tighter weight tolerance and are almost always preferred on the PGA Tour.

True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Iron Shaft

The True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue is ideal for the player looking for a low launch, low spin shaft designed for optimum control and accuracy. You can buy the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue built to your required specifications. The True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue is the Gold Standard by which all other irons shafts are measured. It is the most successful shaft in the history of golf and still continues to dominate on professional tours each and every year. The Tour Issue shafts hold the industries tightest weight tolerances for exacting performance demanded by the best players. You can purchase the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue in the following flexes: S400, and X100.

  View Product
No. 2: Project X Rifle (7 victories)

Within True Temper’s catalog is also the stepless Project X shafts, which can be found in the bags of some of them more aggressive swingers on the PGA Tour.

Case in point: Rory McIlroy is one of the only players using the 7.0 flex of the Project X in his irons, essentially the equivalent of the Dynamic Gold X7 in the Project X profile. Other PX winners this season were Jacob Bridgeman, J.T. Poston, Tom Kim, Stefano Mazzoli (short irons only), Jackson Koivun and Michael Brennan.

All of those players except Tom Kim used the 6.5 flex, generally considered X-Stiff. The Project X Chrome shafts incorporate Stepless Design Technology (SDT) where each individual shaft throughout the set is comprised of a specific taper length. This unique design feature optimizes the flex distribution and energy transfer of the shaft without sacrificing control. SDT provides tip stiffness for stronger players, producing greater accuracy, a smooth yet solid feel on impact and optimal trajectory and spin control. You can purchase the Project X Chrome in the following flexes: .355 5.0, .355 5.5, .355 6.0, .355 6.5, .355 7.0, .370 5.5, .370 6.0, and .370 6.5

  View Product
No. 3: KBS C-Taper (6 victories)

The C-Taper is another stout, stepless profile like Project X used by aggressive players. It was a stock shaft that Ping made for its own irons in the mid-2010s.

Matt Fitzpatrick loves the shaft and re-inserted them in his irons a while back after using them for wins in 2022 and 2023, then won three times this past season with them.

No. 5: Nippon N.S.
