Bryson DeChambeau\u2019s future remains unclear, but he will not retire if LIV Golf closes at the end of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

The Saudi-backed circuit is eyeing a shutdown after the PIF announced it would cut all funding sources<\/a> following the 2026 campaign, but CEO Scott O\u2019Neil is attempting to propose a new business plan to possible investors, projecting that LIV Golf <\/a>would be profitable in two years.<\/p>\n

LIV’s future leaves 57 players left scratching their heads, including two-time U.S. Open champion DeChambeau and two-time major champion Jon Rahm. Thomas Detry said the communication to players has been slim, and DeChambeau is looking on the bright side.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were surprised that they pulled out as quickly as they did,\u201d said DeChambeau, referring to the PIF.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn’t really see that coming. But that’s okay. One door closes, another opens. I think that’s the way a lot of us are looking at it. I think we all have optimism that there is a business plan that makes sense for team golf.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’d quite honestly actually — how do I say it? I’m very optimistic with the business plan of team golf compared to other models, in my opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeChambeau has spoken many times recently regarding his future, as he told the Katie Miller podcast that he didn\u2019t know what to do.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old was hoping for leverage on the PGA Tour for a possible negotiable return, but he missed the cut at the Masters and the PGA Championship, and also said he wanted to grow his YouTube platform more than three times.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe weeks that I’ve been playing in major championships, I’ve been playing okay, just having nothing happen for me, and that’s kind of the game of golf,\u201d said DeChambeau ahead of LIV Golf Korea.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe weeks before that I played really well going into them. I won two events going into the Masters and then finished third in Virginia. So it’s not like I’m playing bad golf.<\/p>\n

“I think I’m putting some pressure on myself to play well in those tournaments, and that’s the reality.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody is perfect, and I’m still working hard to play as good as I possibly can, and the year before I played really well in the majors, missed one cut there, and it just happens.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s golf, and ultimately excited for the opportunities I have moving forward. There isn’t any quit in me, as you can see, even at Aronimink I birdied my first last three holes trying to make the cut there, and it is what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n
