Tour Edge was a pioneer in the use of combo brazing in premium woods and is now offering the Exotics Mini Driver with a titanium cup face using that technology. The titanium face is chemically bonded to the stainless steel body using a low temperature alloy. The result allows the use of a thinner face and removes weight which engineers relocated lower and deeper in the head for better ball speed, consistent spin and control.<\/p>\n
At 280cc the head is 180cc smaller than the typical driver and since the face is shallower, just 42mm in height, the impact is improved especially when used from the fairway. We were impressed with use of a steel body rather than the usual all titanium in mini drivers which means there is more perimeter weight in this model it has more forgiveness for those times when ball impact should miss the center of the face.<\/p>\n
