{"id":717,"date":"2026-05-23T13:59:42","date_gmt":"2026-05-23T13:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/717\/"},"modified":"2026-05-23T13:59:42","modified_gmt":"2026-05-23T13:59:42","slug":"ryan-peake-hoping-an-equipment-fix-sparks-a-turnaround-australian-golf-digest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/717\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryan Peake hoping an equipment fix sparks a turnaround \u2013 Australian Golf Digest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              May 21st, 2026                <\/p>\n<p>\n                By Australian Golf Digest              <\/p>\n<p>The discovery of bent irons may help to explain why Ryan Peake has missed three consecutive cuts on the DP World Tour, with the West Australian arriving at this week\u2019s Soudal Open at Rinkven International Golf Club armed with a new set.<\/p>\n<p>After recording his best finish since joining the DP World Tour with a tie for 24th at the Hero Indian Open in late March, Peake has since missed three consecutive cuts at the Volvo China Open, Turkish Airlines Open and Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/ryan-peake-not-his-peake\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The incredible story of Ryan Peake \u2013 and the most unlikely golfer<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Searching for answers, the 2025 New Zealand Open champion took his clubs to sponsor Titleist, where staff discovered he had been playing with bent irons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been struggling with a left and right miss the past three weeks with my irons and couldn\u2019t work out why,\u201d Peake said on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe boys deep-dived into it and noticed that my hosels and shaft tips were all bent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The discovery has offered some clarity for Peake, who earned his DP World Tour card through the 2024\/25 Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit and is navigating his rookie season in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Peake is part of an eight-strong Australasian contingent in the field at Rinkven International Golf Club for the Soudal Open.
