\n Secret Harbour Golf Links will be hosting the WA Open Golf Championship for the first time in October.\n <\/p>\n

The 102nd state championship, which forms part of the\u00a0Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia schedule, will take place from October 15-18, 2026.<\/p>\n

Owned by TenGolf Group, Secret Harbour Golf Links is considered one of Australia’s best public access courses, ranking\u00a069th and 76th place respectively in Inside Golf and Golf Australia Magazine’s latest top 100 public course listings.<\/p>\n

Chief Executive for GolfWA\u00a0Arron Minchin said the course’s accessibility was part of the appeal.<\/p>\n

“Providing opportunities for more people to play golf in all its formats is central to what we do at GolfWA. We’re grateful to TenGolf for hosting this year’s championship and very excited to be staging our premier event at a truly public facility,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Secret Harbour is an outstanding golf course, and the fact that anyone can book a tee time here is a great example of how accessible the game of golf really can be.”<\/p>\n

Tour Development Manager for the PGA of Australia \u2013 and a three-time WA Open champion \u2013 Kim Felton said the venue ticks all the boxes.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a first-time host of a Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia event, Secret Harbour will present a fantastic championship test,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

“There are several risk-and-reward holes that will make for extremely exciting golf, and when the wind gets up, it will challenge even the very best of our Australasian professionals.”<\/p>\n

General Manager of Secret Harbour Golf Links\u00a0Ben Sweeny said they are thrilled to be hosting the championship.<\/p>\n

“We’re ecstatic…we’ve put a lot of work into the golf course over the last few years,” he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Sweeny said the event is free and no tickets are required for people to attend.<\/p>\n

“People can actually grab a drink, go out on the course and watch the field,” he said.<\/p>\n

Past WA Open champions include PGA Tour winner Ryan Fox (2014), LIV Golf star Elvis Smylie (2024), and WA golfing icons Terry Gale, Stephen Leaney, Graham Marsh and Brett Rumford.<\/p>\n

South Africa’s Oliver Bekker is the defending champion after topping a high-quality field at Mount Lawley GC in 2025.<\/p>\n
