{"id":9516,"date":"2026-05-29T16:08:45","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T16:08:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/9516\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T16:08:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T16:08:45","slug":"scottie-scheffler-returning-to-travelers-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/9516\/","title":{"rendered":"Scottie Scheffler returning to Travelers Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/tag\/travelers-championship\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Travelers Championship<\/a> has been a PGA Tour Signature Event for years now, with the best of the best in golf competing each summer in Cromwell.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019ll be no different this year, as the best of the best\u2013 World No. 1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pgatour.com\/player\/46046\/scottie-scheffler\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scottie Scheffler<\/a>\u2014 has committed to the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler will be part of another stacked player field for the event, which runs from June 25-28 at the Tournament Players Club at River Highlands in Cromwell.<\/p>\n<p>The 29-year-old won the Travelers two years ago, shooting 22-under-par and defeating Tom Kim in a playoff. He was in contention again last year before finishing tied for sixth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat can you say about Scottie? He\u2019s been the world\u2019s top-ranked player for almost three straight years now, and is determined to win every tournament he enters. He enhances every tournament he plays in, so we\u2019re excited to hear he\u2019s coming back to play in the Travelers Championship,\u201d said tournament director Nathan Grube.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe certainly remember the excitement he generated when he won here in 2024, and look forward to seeing what he can do at TPC River Highlands this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler is joined in the field by fellow top-10 players Tommy Fleetwood (4), Xander Scahuffele (6), Justin Rose (7) and Chris Gotterup (9). Defending champion Keegan Bradley, currently ranked No. 26, is also in the field.
