German power-grid fees are set to drop 57% next year on the back of government subsidies, as part of a move to ease energy bills for households and make the country’s industries more competitive.
Average grid fees should fall to 2.86 cents per kilowatt-hour from 6.65 cents, according to a statement from the four grid operators 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, Amprion GmbH, TenneT and TransnetBW GmbH. Grid fees, along with taxes, account for a substantial portion of bills.
