The frontman of Dexys Midnight Runners has revealed he became obsessed with republicanism a year after reaching number one with Come On Eileen.
In his new memoir Bless Me Father, Kevin Rowland lauded the “astonishing bravery of Bobby Sands” and said he made trips to Northern Ireland to meet with “inspiring” republicans.
