An emergency was declared as a “precaution” after an Aer Lingus flight landed at Belfast City Airport earlier this afternoon.
The emergency situation involved an Aer Lingus regional plane – flight EI3643 – which was arriving from Birmingham.

The airport has confirmed the plane touched down at the airport just before 1.40pm and was met by emergency services.
A spokesperson for the airline said: “Aer Lingus Regional flight EI3643, operated by Emerald Airlines, flying from Birmingham Airport to Belfast City Airport was met by emergency services as a precaution but landed without incident.”
