The owner of two major bars in Cork says he cannot be sure whether either business will still be operating in a year’s time.

Sean McCarthy, who operates Tequila Jack’s on Lapp’s Quay and Paddy the Farmer’s on the Old Blackrock Road, says his businesses are being hit from all sides, with the new mandatory pension contribution and the rise in the minimum wage cutting further into what are increasingly tight margins.
