Bindi Irwin famously won Dancing With The Stars in 2015 – and now her brother Robert Irwin is a frontrunner for the 2025 Mirrorball Trophy.
However, the 21-year-old’s latest dance has seen fans point out a detail that could send the much-loved Aussie home: his choice of music.
For Disney night, the Wildlife Warrior and his partner Witney Carson chose to perform the cha-cha-cha to Shakira‘s Try Everything from the film Zootopia.
While fitting the theme, it seems the choice of song was part of Robert’s promotion of the film and his voice role in the upcoming Zootopia 2 as koala Robert Furwin.
Despite walking away with a high 22-point score, fans slammed the music and speculated that it might be the thing that sees Robert miss the podium.
‘I’m unhappy with the song choices for Robert which I think leads to questionable choreo from Witney,’ one person wrote on X.

Another chimed in: ‘Give Robert better music PLEASE! That man eats but he can’t eat if you don’t give him utensils!’
‘At what point in the season will Robert and Witney finally get a good song so they can prove they’re real contenders for the mirrorball?’ another added.
One fan cut straight to the point, saying: ‘Honestly this was nothing more than an advertisement for the movie because of him being in it. This is at least the 2nd week where he’s had music that doesn’t go with the dance style. You can only do so much with what you’re given.’
Despite fans’ concern over Robert’s choice of music, the DWTS judges didn’t hold the same sentiment.
Judge Derek Hough gushed over Robert’s famed personal style, and shared how the Wildlife Warrior has the same magic his late father, Steve Irwin, once did.
‘You just have that Irwin aura, ‘ Derek said, adding, ‘you can’t help but smile when I watch you perform.’
However, Derek was not convinced by elements of Robert’s performance, including ‘weird’ arm movements.
He also suggested to Robert that he needs to ‘open up’ his hips to allow better leg extension.

It was judge Carrie Ann Inaba who zeroed in on a significant and unflattering detail about Robert’s performance, leaving the star a little flustered.
‘Sometimes you stop your movements, like you are posing for a straight-on camera shot, and I want you to start to flow through the movements,’ she explained.
Inaba added she could see him ‘flexing his muscles’ and that he needed to relax more.
‘[You’re like] check out my back,’ she said before getting up out of her chair to perform an imitation that mocked the star’s preening on the dance floor.
Robert, in typical style, did not disappoint his fans and took the knock with a broad grin and a big laugh, apparently accepting the advice with a ‘thank you’.
Judge Bruno Tonioli was also impressed with the performance, describing the routine as ‘clean, clear and sweet’.
