After weeks of speculation and disputes, the title of Anurag Basu’s upcoming musical drama has finally been confirmed as Tu Meri Zindagi Hai. The announcement has sparked a flood of reactions online — and not all of them are positive.
Originally planned as Aashiqui 3, the film was expected to continue the popular Aashiqui franchise. However, due to disagreements with the banner holding the rights to the title, the makers had to drop the name. Fans hoped the issue would be resolved, but that didn’t happen.
Social media users are already comparing the film to Saiyaara, a recent blockbuster with a similar romantic premise. The movie stars Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela in the lead roles, marking their first on-screen pairing.
When Kartik’s look from the film was unveiled, it drew strong reactions. Many felt his rugged bearded appearance looked repetitive and too similar to the Kabir Singh aesthetic. The criticism added to the film’s growing list of pre-release troubles.
With so much backlash even before release, the makers now face an uphill task. Still, if Tu Meri Zindagi Hai delivers a soulful soundtrack and genuine emotion, it might just win audiences over despite the early negativity.
