U2 band members The Edge and Adam Clayton were among the speakers today at the Venturewave Capital Impact Ireland convention.
The convention brought together investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to strengthen Ireland’s position as a global hub for impact investing.
It was hosted by the Global Advisory Council of Venturewave Capital and supported by Bank of America.
Global finance giant Bank of America is increasing its investment in the Impact Ireland Fund, an investment vehicle formed by Dublin-headquartered Venturewave Capital and backed by The Edge.
Adam Clayton and The Edge are both members of Venturewave’s advisory council.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin was also a speaker at today’s event.
The conference sessions ended with a fireside chat with Patrick Collison, co-founder and CEO of payments giant Stripe.

Venturewave invests both in Irish-founded businesses and in international ventures that expand to and from Ireland to accelerate their growth.
The Impact Ireland fund invests in projects and enterprises in the energy, education, agriculture, sustainable finance and health sectors.
At a gala dinner on Thursday, Taoiseach Micheál Martin and The Edge of U2 presented the 2025 Impact Ireland Award to John and Patrick Collison, recognising their “extraordinary contribution to global innovation, entrepreneurship, and Ireland’s leadership in technology and responsible business”.
