Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has issued an exciting update regarding a possible return as Sophie Webster, with the actor confirming that she’d be open to reprising her role after a six-year absence.
Vincent appeared on the long-running ITV soap between 2004 and 2019, with the actor taking over the iconic role from Emma Woodward, who had played the character between 1997 and 2004.
After Sophie left the cobbled streets of Weatherfield due to Vincent’s maternity leave, the actor has since raised two children with partner Kean Bryan, but confirmed to OK! Magazine that she would be more than willing to return to the soap.

“Whenever, if ever, they ask me, I’d love to go back,” she said. “I’ve got a lot of friends there, it’s like family. It’s such a lovely place to work, so [I would] definitely [consider reprising my role].”
“I’ve had such a long time off and I’ve been able to enjoy my children without the tough schedule, which can be hard sometimes,” continued the star, who added that Corrie was a “huge part” of her identity.

Vincent’s latest comments echo the ones she made in February, where the actor said that she would “love to go back” to Corrie now that her children were a “little bit older” and preparing to start school.
While Vincent’s return – if indeed there is one – may be further down the line, Corrie boss Kate Brooks recently teased some of the storylines that fans can expect over the festive season.
“There’s loads going on Christmas Day. The day itself is a real family affair,” she said. “It’s very community-based and very lively. There’s loads going on. Secrets are exposed. So it’s a real feel-good episode, with a lot of drama thrown into the mix.

“As for the stories we’ve got going on which build to that, we’ve got Ronnie and Debbie, who are very keen to crack on with their wedding. There’s lots of preparation for that – fun and games in terms of that. It’s not taking place in the Chariot Square Hotel!
“We’ve also got Carla, Lisa and Becky. That story really goes up a gear around Christmas time. There are a few really big twists that will keep people hooked and keep people watching as they watch this all unfold.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
