Stephen A. Smith is rarely at a loss for words or wisecracks.

As one of ESPN’s most animated and outspoken personalities, he’s long been known for throwing verbal jabs at athletes, coaches, and even his own colleagues. But in a recent episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, the joke was squarely—and hilariously—on him.

On Tuesday (Aug. 19), Smith invited his daughter, Samantha A. Smith, back on his popular YouTube program. At the close of the episode, around the 28:12 mark, Samantha signed off in style, not missing the chance to poke fun at a certain family trait fans have noticed for years.

“This is it for this edition of The Stephen A. Smith Show with Samantha A. Smith and Stephen A. Smith,” she said. “Thank you guys for tuning in.”

Then came the punchline: “Yes, his forehead still has space,” she quipped. “You guys, there will always be space. No, he cannot afford a hair transplant — so keep watching so he can afford it.”

The lighthearted roast instantly went viral, offering a rare moment of vulnerability—and self-deprecating humor—for Smith, who has increasingly brought his family into his programming.

Both Samantha and Smith’s nephew, Josh, have drawn social media buzz after appearances on the show, offering fans a glimpse into the Queens native’s life beyond the camera.

The timing is especially amusing as Smith has also been teasing a potential shift into politics. “Life is good, man. I leave the door open,” Smith said recently about possibly running for President.

“I can’t imagine myself doing it, but I haven’t ruled it out, because I’m disgusted with what I’m seeing on the left.” He added, “They better get their act together. The party is in disarray. New leadership.”

While the pundit weighs political aspirations, one thing is certain—at home, Stephen A. is still subject to the sharpest commentary of all.
