Netflix has rounded out the cast of the upcoming series take on “,” Variety has learned.

The streamer has added 11 new cast members to the series, which was first announced in February with Omar Sy in the lead role. The new cast members are:

Sacha Dhawan (“The Great,” “Dr. Who”), Ross McCall (“Silo,” “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”), Pip Torrens (“The Crown, Succession”), Sam Woolf (“We Were the Lucky Ones,” “Neuromancer”), Michael Zananiri (“Once Upon a Time in Gaza,” “An Orange from Jaffa”), Riyad Sliman (“Ramy,” “Palestine 36”), Muhannad Ben Amor (“Andor,” “Believe Me”), Aaron Heffernan (“Brassic,” “Femme”), Jojo Macari (“Those About to Die,” “Sex Education”), Theo Ogundipe (“Mickey 17,” “Top Boy”) and Emma Appleton (“Everything I Know About Love,” “The Witcher”).

Along with Sy, the new additions join a cast that already includes Boyd Holbrook, Natalie Dormer, Waleed Zuaiter, May Calamawy, and Ed Speleers. Netflix has commissioned an eight-episode first season.

The official logline for the series states, “In this action-packed thriller, a mercenary (Sy) embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers, he must navigate life-or-death choices while confronting deep emotional wounds. The series explores the trauma, betrayal, and moral conflicts of characters pushed to the edge.”

Glen Mazzara serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the “Extraction” series. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes and Chris Castaldi executive produce for AGBO, with Sam Hargrave, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin also executive producing.

The first “Extraction” film, which starred Chris Hemsworth, was released on Netflix in 2020. Hemsworth returned for the sequel in 2023. The films were based on the graphic novel “Ciudad” by Ande Parks. Joe Russo wrote the screenplay for both films and produced along with Anthony, Gitter, and Schwerin. Hargrave directed both films, with AGBO producing.
