Roy Keane expects Manchester United to lose against Liverpool
Speaking on The Overlap, United legend Keane shared his score prediction for Sunday’s clash alongside Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher.
“3-1 Liverpool,” Keane said.
“2-1 Liverpool, he (Carragher) said,” Gary Neville replied.
Mohamed Salah can make Liverpool history at Anfield, and history suggests that the Egyptian will do exactly that – he has a phenomenal record against Man United.
However, the Reds struggled against United when the sides met on Merseyside last season in a match where the visitors could very well have stolen the three points.
Amorim will be encouraged by Liverpool’s recent form, and the Portuguese boss has proven throughout his short tenure that he is capable of getting results in matches against the top six.
Furthermore, Liverpool’s new signings have struggled to adapt to life at Anfield, and as things stand, there is no way of telling for either set of supporters whether Slot has found the solution to his problems during the hiatus from club football.
Liverpool should be wary of Manchester United
Although the Reds have recorded some resounding victories over their North West rivals in recent years, the last five encounters do not bode well for supporters.
Following the crushing 7-0 win at Anfield in the 2022/23 campaign, Man United boast a respectable record in this fixture and have secured a share of the spoils on their last two trips to Merseyside.
- Liverpool 2-2 Manchester United (05/01/2025)
- Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool (01/09/2025)
- Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool (07/04/2024)
- Manchester United 4-3 Liverpool (17/03/2024)
- Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United (17/12/2023)
Both sides have claimed one victory and drawn the other three matches. With Slot and Amorim heading into the clash, the teams are unpredictable, and supporters could very well be treated to another goal fest.
