NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 23: U.S. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump step on an escalator as they arrive for the 80th session of the UN’s General Assembly (UNGA) on September 23, 2025 in New York City. Melania Trump once delivered a sharp instruction to Donald Trump when a photo opportunity went awry, according to claims in a new book written by the US President’s son.

Eric Trump, 41, published his memoir – Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation – this week, and it has been billed as an “unfiltered look at the highs and lows of life in the Trump world“.

Eric is Trump’s second son and in his book he revealed details about bringing his own family into the White House for a special occasion where the First Lady had to step in at a crucial moment.

He and wife Lara share two children, called Luke and Carolina, and both of them were christened in his father’s historic workplace in Washington DC.

This took place in the East Room below the famous portrait of Abraham Lincoln.

However, after the baptism, Melania, 55, issued a five-word command to her husband after his grandson started crying, and Eric disclosed the details in his new book.

He wrote: “For Lara and me, having Luke and Carolina baptized there just seemed natural. My father could leave the Chinese delegation, or whatever the meeting of the day, and Luke and Carolina could feel the beauty of the building, and a movement that was now engrained in their DNA.

“After the baptism, my father picked up his new grandson and held him for a photo. Right on cue, and still dripping with water, Luke started to cry.

“Melania turned to him with a smile and took charge. ‘Donald, you run the country,’ she said as she gently took Luke and cradled him in her arms.”

Trump, 79, himself heaped praise on the book this week just 20 minutes after another post where he bragged about bringing “peace” to the Middle East after Israeli hostages in Gaza were released by Hamas.

Posting on Truth Social on Tuesday, he said: “UNDER SIEGE, which is breaking records everywhere. It’s a phenomenal book that’s a must-read for everyone. Congratulations Eric, you deserve it!!!”

Eric, meanwhile, has been on a promotional tour for the book and he has been doling out massive compliments about his father along the way.

Speaking on The Benny Show podcast about his dad, Eric said: “He is heaven-bound, and I can tell you maybe the one thing he does that might have influenced heaven is…

“I think there is a lot less people going to heaven, meaning, they are going to heaven slower because he stopped the death and destruction around the world.”

However, last weekend, when asked whether his Hamas and Israel peace deal would grant him access to heaven, Trump was less certain than his son.

He said: “I don’t think there’s anything [that is] going to get me in heaven. Okay? I think I’m not maybe heaven-bound.”

Trump added: “I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven, but I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people.”
