The Cork couple first met when Katlyn was just 15 and Alan was 17, after being introduced through mutual friends.
The couple had planned a trip to New York and Las Vegas, but the pandemic put a halt to their travels there. Instead they travelled to Puerto Rico. “He had had the ring since May, and our friends said they would come along for the holiday. We flew out two days before them, and they came and had the ring with them. We went to the beach and Alan proposed on the beach front – it was fantastic,” said Katlyn.
Katlyn and Alan were supported on the day by their family and closest friends.
The couple said ‘I do’ at the Rochestown Park Hotel on July 10.
The couple, from the northside of the city, now live in Bweeng in the home they bought together in 2022.
The couple were supported on the day by their family and friends, including Katlyn’s mother Fiona, father Anthony, and grandmother Rose; Alan’s mother Melissa, and their bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl, and junior groomsman.

Guests enjoyed the roulette table, giant Jenga, giant dominoes, pitch and putt, and a bean bag toss at the reception. The games continued into the meal, where friends and family joined in a game of Mr & Mrs, music bingo, and a game of ‘Bring Me’, which the couple likened to ‘musical chairs mixed with a treasure hunt’.
