Whether by accident or design, the Top Secret Comedy Club in London’s Covent Garden boasts, according to its MC, “the cheapest drinks you’ll find in central London outside of a Wetherspoons”.

It’s clearly working, as it’s Saturday night and the room is properly abuzz with punters who have bought tickets for a comedy in which the comedians remain, well, a secret until they make it to the stage. It’s a good way for comics to try out new material and float new routines in front of what’s essentially an eager, if not entirely partial, crowd.
