A MAN, aged in his 30s, was rushed to hospital following an assault in Limerick city.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí received a report of an incident of assault that occurred in the Parnell Street area of Limerick city on Wednesday, August 20 at approximately 9.45 pm.

“A male in his 30s was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of non-life threatening injuries,” said the garda spokesperson.
The nature of the assault is not known at this time. Part of the street is cordoned off this Thursday morning and what appears to be black tarpaulin is covering a section of the pavement this Thursday morning.
The scene across from Colbert Station remains preserved by gardai for technical examination.
“Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.
