Sofía Vergara is revealing what she thinks Gloria Delgado-Pritchett would be up to these days.
The Modern Family alum, 53, shared in an interview with E! News on Saturday, Oct. 18, that she thinks her character from the long-running ABC sitcom would have some big plans five years after the series ended in 2020.
“Jay and Gloria would be getting ready for Manny to already have left for college,” Vergara said of her on-screen family of Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill) and Manny Delgado (Rico Rodriguez), while at Food Network’s New York City Wine & Food Festival over the weekend.
“That would have been I’m sure a really, really fun season, to just have now Jay and Gloria together with little Joe,” she added of Jay and Gloria’s youngest.

Vergara’s real-life son, 34-year-old Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, told E! that Gloria would likely be at the food festival “with her sauce.” His mom agreed, confirming that Gloria would “be selling sauce here in New York.”
“We are still like a family,” she added of the Modern Family cast. “Everything we do, we are connected in a gigantic chat with all the kids and all the actors. And we’re always watching each other, supporting each other.”
Modern Family, which premiered back in 2009, came to an end following its 11 seasons on ABC in 2020. In the years since, its cast has reunited on multiple occasions, most recently when O’Neill, 79, and on-screen kids Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson had their own Pritchett family gathering in September.
At the time, Ferguson captioned a wholesome reunion snap of the trio on Instagram with “The Pritchetts Sept 27 2025.” In response, Eric Stonestreet (who played Ferguson’s on-screen husband Cam Tucker) had some questions and jokingly wanted to know why the whole cast wasn’t present.
“Is there drama behind the scenes? Are you all fighting!? Do you hate each other now? Wait. Where am I!? Why am I not there!? Did I snub you!? Did you snub me!? There MUST be SOMETHING going on,” he commented.
Stonestreet previously revealed earlier this year that the on-screen family was a group that will be with him for the rest of his life. “We are such a close unit,” he said in January 2025. “We all are in communication with each other.”
“We all love each other. It was no doubt from the beginning of that,” he added. “This is dark and macabre, but I remember thinking, ‘Wow, I have a whole lot of new people that I’m going to grow old with and know for the rest of my life.’ ”
Modern Family is available to stream in full on Hulu.
