Madison-based TDS Telecommunications LLC announced plans to expand its all-fiber, high-speed internet network to the Lake Geneva area.

Construction is scheduled to begin in some areas as early as next month.

The soon-to-be TDS fiber communities are located mainly in Walworth County but also in Kenosha and Waukesha counties.

The company said its expanded fiber network will provide faster internet speeds to approximately 26,000 homes and businesses.

“As a Wisconsin-based company, we’re proud to provide our state-of-the-art internet products to more communities in the Badger State,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Telecom senior vice president of corporate affairs. “Our friends and neighbors throughout Wisconsin deserve to have world-class connectivity for their homes and businesses.”

Communities in TDS’ latest fiber expansion plans include Lake Geneva, Burlington, Camp Lake, Como, Delavan, East Troy, Genoa City, Pell Lake, Walworth, and Williams Bay.

Other communities with ongoing TDS fiber projects include Twin Lakes, Green Bay, Janesville, and Eau Claire.
