When Good Ghouls Go Bad, the 2001 made-for-TV gateway horror movie starring Christopher Lloyd, is the subject of a new documentary titled When Good Ghouls Go Missing.

Filmmaker Dylan R. Nix explores the out-of-print film’s legacy in the 75-minute retrospective, streaming for free below.

It features interviews with co-writer John Lau and actors Tom Amandes, Brittany Byrnes, Joseph Clements, Craig Marriott, and Alan Flower alongside never-before-seen photos from the production.

Based on a concept by Goosebumps and Fear Street author R.L. Stine, When Good Ghouls Go Bad premiered as part of Fox Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween programming in October 2001.

In the film, when 12-year-old Danny Walker moves to his father’s hometown in Minnesota, he finds that the town doesn’t celebrate Halloween and things aren’t quite what they appear to be.

The movie is perhaps most notably due to the fact that lead actor Joe Pichler went missing at the age of 18 under mysterious circumstances in 2006. His whereabouts remain unknown.
