Dr. Robert R. Atnip and DeKalb County are joining chiropractic physicians nationwide this October during National Chiropractic Health Month to help raise awareness of non-drug approaches to pain management.
County Mayor Matt Adcock signed a proclamation Monday accompanied by Dr. Atnip
The proclamation is as follows:
WHEREAS, chiropractic physicians are experts in musculoskeletal (MSK) health, providing safe, effective, non-drug care that helps people stay active, independent, and well; and
WHEREAS, musculoskeletal conditions are the #1 reason people visit their doctor in the U.S. with back pain being the leading cause of disability worldwide; and
WHEREAS, major health organizations recommend noninvasive, non-drug approaches such as spinal manipulation for back pain before medication or surgery; and
WHEREAS, in addition to being experts in spinal manipulation, chiropractic physicians educate their patients on healthy lifestyles, ergonomics, injury prevention, and nutrition to support whole-body wellness; and
WHEREAS, with the 2025 theme “Chiropractic: Keeping Our Communities Active and Well,” Chiropractic Health Month highlights the vital role chiropractic care plays in promoting musculoskeletal health for Tennesseans; and
WHEREAS, the Tennessee Chiropractic Association, serving the chiropractic profession for 90 years, join with the American Chiropractic Association in recognizing October, 2025 as National Chiropractic Health Month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I Matt Adcock, County Executive of DeKalb County, do hereby proclaim October, 2025 as Chiropractic Health Month in DeKalb County and encourage all citizens to recognize the important role the chiropractic physicians in supporting active, healthy communities”
