Paris’ iconic Centre Pompidou is moving closer to the beginning of a major overhaul. As we reported last year, the museum’s renovation will be led by French studio Moreau Kusunoki, while Frida Escobedo will serve as associate designer.
The renovation is expected to begin in early 2026, following the gradual closure of all levels of the building. The project will deliver a new Forum entry sequence as well as an open rooftop space, while an expanded 70,000-square-foot multi-use cinematic area will be developed below the plaza.
“Rather than transforming, we seek to rediscover – to bring forward the project’s original spirit and renew its dialogue with the city, the street, and the life they sustain,” Hiroko Kusunoki and Nicolas Moreau said about their approach.
