S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A popular fitness facility is bulking up its footprint and offerings at a new location in Lehigh County.
Resistance Strength and F13 Performance, a two-in-one facility offering 24/7 access at two unique, neighboring fitness training spaces, will hold a grand opening 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 8 at 4630 Broadway in South Whitehall Township, founder and CEO Rob Eschbach said.

The grand opening will feature DJ entertainment, raffles and a ribbon-cutting ceremony (10:30 a.m.).
The new facility, located in the Tilghman Square shopping center, is an expansion of F13 Performance, an all-encompassing performance and fitness facility that previously operated for 11 years on Penn Drive in the Fogelsville section of Upper Macungie Township, Eschbach said.
In early September, F13 Performance relocated to a renovated space – previously used for storage – at the back of the shopping center, and Resistance Strength will occupy a renovated unit – between Dollar Tree and Staples – when it opens at the front of the shopping center next month.
F13 Performance offers structured programming, including small group fitness classes and one-on-one coaching, while Resistance Strength will offer a “more traditional gym experience” where members can work out on their own, Eschbach said.
Eschbach was attracted to the Tilghman Square location as it offers a unique layout to bring his two-in-one vision to life.

Members will have 24/7 access to both gyms, and they will be able to travel easily – a roughly 20-foot walk – from one space to the other via a door at the back of Resistance Strength.
“We’re excited to be expanding with a larger 24-hour access facility, serving both performance individuals and regular gym-goers,” Eschbach told 69 News.
“We were in Fogelsville for 11 years as F13 Performance, opening there in June 2014, and we saw an opportunity to expand our offerings at a new location. Some people just want to lift weights and do their own workouts, and we’ll have a separate space for that now. But a lot of other people like the structure and classes that we offer at F13, and so we’re continuing to offer that as well. We’re only expanding offerings – two gyms, one membership.”
The new Resistance Strength gym will offer brand-new cardio and strength-training equipment, including top-of-the-line pieces from United Kingdom-based Watson Gym Equipment.

Members will be able to utilize a wide array of free weights, including dumbbells and barbells, along with treadmills, ellipticals, squat racks and Smith machines, among other equipment, Eschbach said.
The renovated space will feature new flooring, mirrored walls, a lounge area and restrooms and locker rooms with showers.
A founding membership, $85 per month, includes open-gym access at both Resistance Strength and F13 Performance.
Founding memberships are limited, and individuals can lock in the promotional rate online at f13performance.com/resistance-strength.

F13 Performance, which has a tagline of “fitness with focus,” also features an expansive variety of equipment, including free weights, squat racks, stationary bicycles and functional equipment such as rings, kettle bells, medicine balls, battle ropes, plyo boxes, push sleds and SkiErg machines.
Around nine small-group fitness classes are offered each day, Eschbach said.
The gym provides a safe, engaging and results-driven fitness experience, delivered by fitness professionals.
“We don’t write our program and then match people to it,” a message on the business’ website reads. “We meet people like you, find out your goals, and then write our programs to achieve them. Every day you train, is one day closer to your goals.”
F13 Performance’s flagship program, FitFocus, utilizes the “Four S” method designed to deliver results through strength, stability, skill and sweat.

FitFocus utilizes small-group training to keep members motivated in a high-energy group atmosphere.
The program is suitable for individuals looking to “be stronger, healthier and live a more active lifestyle, surrounded by a determined group of positive, active, fun loving people.”
Additionally, F13 Performance offers HybridFocus, which takes the same method and cranks up the intensity (suitable for obstacle course race participants, HYROX athletes and anyone who loves a fast pace) and HyperFocus, which offers fully-customized programs via one-on-one, individualized coaching.
Student athletes looking to level up also can sign up for sport performance training, offering sport-specific programs for improvement in strength, speed, injury prevention and other areas.
F13 Performance’s former location totaled around 9,000 square feet, while the new, two-in-one facility will span more than 12,000 square feet, Eschbach said.
