The south west Donegal community has been rocked by the passing of popular local shopkeeper, Seamus Byrne.
The late Mr Bryne, who was in his early 60s, ran Byrne’s Foodstore and Filling Station in the village of Cashel, Glencolmcille. He got involved in the business with his brothers following the deaths of their parents, Leonard and Mary, in March, 2011.
He passed away peacefully today at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and he will be laid to rest in Glen on Friday.

The peaceful death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Seamus Byrne, Cashel Glencolmcille, Co Donegal surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Mary, brother Stephen and sister-in-law Bríd.
Very sadly missed by his loving family, brothers Michael and Adrian and sister Catherine (Seamus). Nephews Olan & Connor. Nieces Chantelle, Athena & Alannah and extended family, neighbours and friends.
Remains reposing at Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara, (F94 A250) on Wednesday 22nd October from 4 to 6 pm.
Reposing at his late residence from 7 to 10pm and on Thursday 23rd October from 12 to 10pm.
Funeral mass at 11am on Friday 24th October in St Columba’s Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Oncology Unit, Letterkenny University Hospital and Donegal Hospice c/o any family member.
