The search for Derry man Seamus Quinn has been stood down following the discovery of a body.
Mr Quinn, a much-loved teacher at Loreto Letterkenny, had been missing from his home since Tuesday morning.
His family had been supported by police in Northern Ireland and gardaí in Donegal during the widespread search.
His daughter Caitlín shared the heartbreaking news on behalf of the family this afternoon.
“Sadly, the search has now been called off. Our wonderful husband and daddy has been found,” Caitlín wrote online, adding that the family is “totally heartbroken.”
Ms Quinn also shared the family’s thanks to those who helped by sharing posts, messages and supporting the search.
A garda spokesperson said: “Following the discovery of a body, the missing person appeal for Seamus Quinn (63) who was reported missing from Derry since the 21st October 2025, has been stood down.”
