It’s been well over a year since all episodes of Fallout premiered on Prime Video, and it’s almost time to return to the wasteland once again. Empire Magazine released a new image from Fallout Season 2, showing Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) on what Purnell calls a “buddy road trip.” This already has fans speculating about a potential romance between the two, as many viewers felt there was chemistry between them in the first season. However, Purnell also confirms that there will be times when they’re “so much at arms” while on the road together in Season 2.

“They’re trying to influence each other and see who’s going to rub off on whom. Is The Ghoul going to become good? Is Lucy going to become bad? Or are they going to meet somewhere in the middle?” Somewhere in the middle seems more likely, but Fallout players know that the wasteland can turn good people into villains with ease. In addition to Purnell and Goggins as Lucy and The Ghoul, Fallout Season 2 will also star Aaron Moten as Maximus, Moises Arias as Norm, Leer Leary as David, Leslie Uggams as Betty, and Rachel Marsh as Claudia.

Prime Video has already confirmed that Fallout Season 2 will premiere on December 19, but the streamer is rolling out a different release model for the long-awaited second season. Fallout Season 1 was released as a binge with all episodes dropping on the same day, but Fallout Season 2 will shift to a weekly release model. The first episode will premiere on December 17, and subsequent episodes will follow weekly until the Season 2 finale on February 4. This year’s trip to the wasteland will last much longer.

Will ‘Fallout’ Get a Season 3?

Prime Video has already confirmed that a third season of Fallout is in the works. This announcement came earlier this year, months before the premiere of Season 2, showing that the streamer has faith in Season 2 to continue the trend of success set by Season 1. Details about Fallout Season 3 are being kept under wraps, and given that the series doesn’t directly adapt a game and instead uses it for inspiration, it’s tough to predict where things are heading. Still, fans can expect to see New Vegas in Fallout Season 2.
