The Morning Show season 4 episode 6 ‘If Only’ spoilers follow.
The Morning Show has confirmed that fan-favourite character Stella Bak has left the show after her latest scheme exploded in her face in a very public manner. The UBN CEO has been gambling heavily on taking the company into the AI space, but things backfire when her new boss Celine strongarms her into doing a presentation with the company’s new chatbot while it’s still in the prototype stage.
Before the presentation, Stella confides in the chatbot about her anxieties about her position, plus her affair with Celine’s husband Miles – both are which are then revealed to the public at the presentation.

Imagining where Stella would end up after getting off the plane, Lee said: “I think she’ll go to the tiki bar and maybe last a few weeks. It’s so ingrained in her to be a fighter and a worker…
“She’s thinking, ‘How can I utilise the news in the best way it could possibly be utilised, and what is the future?'”
The decision for Stella to leave was mutual one between Lee and the show’s bosses, with the actor explaining: “These shows are such a commitment. We kept trying and it just got harder and harder, scheduling-wise, to be there, and to be able to hand over my resources and time to keep being on the show.”

“The writers came back with this storyline and it’s so bittersweet, but I also feel this was the end,” she continued. “Sometimes it’s that hard thing where it’s time. It’s time for a character to move on.”
Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt added: “It was very emotional [filming her final scene]. Just thinking about it, I tear up. It was very hard to leave her.”
